Hey guys just a quick post here to show you two products that I carry in my handbag everyday which I have been loving recently.
The first one is Etude House AC Clinic Intense Hinoki Water Mist 100ml which I bought from YesStyle for £9.90.
I am new to facial mists but I am loving this one so far. Hinoki cypress water (53%) creates moisturised and clean skin. It takes care of sebum and dead skin cells to create smooth skin without shine. It contains salicylic acid to soothe troublesome skin and is free from animal cruelty, mineral oil, artificial colours and artificial fragrance free.
I spray about 2-3 pumps of this this on my face half way through the day to refresh my make up, hydrate my face and reduce the oil on my skin. This mist has a bit of an odd fragrance sort of like cucumbers, but it disappears once it is on the skin. It hasn’t broken me out so I would recommend to anyone with combination/oily skin. I would also recommend using waterproof eyeliner and mascara if you’re using this.
Secondly I have been loving these hand creams from Mamonde which I also bought from YesStyle for £9.90 each.
I got two fragrances, the Ice Mint Hand Gel Cream which feels really refreshing on your hands and the Cherry Blossom Perfume Hand Cream. Both of these have beautiful packaging, the cream is very hydrating, absorbs quickly and is not sticky or tacky. I was a bit apprehensive about the mint fragrance but it is extremely subtle and smells really fresh. Both creams have the added bonus of having SPF 17 PA+ in them.
Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask is a Jeju volcanic scoria clay mask used to intensively adsorb sebum and purify pores. This pure and rare ingredient formulated from solidified lava caused by volcanic eruptions in Jeju Island adsorbs impurities and sebum that are deeply embedded within skin pores.
Innisfree are known as quite a green company so the box that this mask comes in is 100% recycled. The pot itself is plastic. Overall the packaging feels very earthy which stays in line with the InnisFree brand. I have to say that this 100ml pot is tiny and for £12.90 it makes it quite an expensive face mask. Also the fact that it isn’t in a tube makes it less hygienic.
After cleansing and toning, smooth the mask on the face avoiding the eyes and mouth area. The texture of this mask is so wonderful. It spread like chocolate spread but is very mousse- y so apply this with a make-up brush in order to avoid dipping your fingers in the pot. The mask itself in a light beige colour and feels really nice on the skin. After 15 minutes the mask will dry hard and can be rinsed off with warm water.
If you follow my posts you’ll know that I have an extremely oily T-zone and clogged pores around my nose which leads to whiteheads around that area, so I need a mask that completely sucks all the oil out of my pores. This mask left my skin feeling very clean and balanced but I didn’t see a significant improvement in the whiteheads and clogged pores around my nose. For this reason I wouldn’t recommend this if you’ve got oily skin like mine.
This was a nice clay mask to use but it doesn’t do the job for my oily skin, I much prefer my favourite mask from Lush, furthermore the price means that I won’t be repurchasing it for now. If however you’ve got dry or sensitive skin this may work for you as it is extremely gentle and doesn’t cause any irritation by stripping oils from the skin.
Berristure by Sua Young is a refreshing and lightweight gel type cream that instantly hydrates and steadily releases moisture, leaving skin refreshed and rejuvenated throughout the day. The gel contains black collagen capsule which looks like strawberry seed, grape seed oil and gelatine to provide antioxidant protection. This cream is Ideal for all skin types and contains eight different berry extracts to promote skin elasticity and reduce skin irritation. It can be used as a facial cream or a wash off pack.
First I have to say the packaging of this product is gorgeous, the pot is made of a matt plastic white top and frosted pink plastic bottom. It comes with a spatula which is great because you don’t have to dip your fingers in.
The consistency of the cream is a cooling light-weight gel and it has little collagen capsules which burst and absorb immediately into the skin. It has a light strawberry fragrance which isn’t too overpowering.
I used this at the last stage of my skin care routine at night. After two layers of this gel I didn’t feel like my skin was moisturised enough and after about 5 minutes my skin began to feel quite tight, the next morning my skin felt soft, but still a little dry. I then used this as a wash off pack. I layered the product over clean skin and let it dry for 20 mins. After I washed it off my skin felt soft and some of the redness had disappeared.
Having tested this product I don’t think I’ll be rushing out to buy it. It was a nice product to use because it caused some skin tightening and it hasn’t caused any irritation. It performs well as a wash off pack but I’m sure there are cheaper alternatives you could use. I wouldn’t use it as a day cream as it has no SPF and it isn’t moisturising enough as a night cream.
Skin Note by Etude House is range of hydrogel masks to give five different skin benefits; deep moisture, lifting, brightening, pore tightening and calming. I will be reviewing the deep moisturising mask.
This mask has hyaluronic acid and seaweed extracts in it to provide intense moisture into the skin. Unlike most sheet masks it is not made of bio-cellulose or fabric, but instead of hydrogel which is made of gelatin mixed in with the essence.
The mask comes in two halves. It is very slippery and delicate to handle so I wouldn’t recommend using this if you’re in a hurry.
As you can see from the picture below the bottom half of the mask was a very good fit, the top half wasn’t as good. Also the mask kept slipping down my face.
After 20 minutes I took the mask off and massaged the remaining essence into my skin.
What I like about this mask is the hydrogel texture. It is extremely cooling and unlike fabric masks this allows 100% mask-to-skin contact. Secondly my skin felt buttery soft after using this mask and deeply hydrated.
I have read that hydrogel masks are better for essence absorption than fabric sheet masks, but not as effective compared to bio-cellulose sheet masks. I also read that hydrogel masks can cause irritation, so avoid this if you have sensitive skin.
I will continue to use this mask and the other ones in the Skin Note range because it left my skin really soft and hydrated. At around £3.18 each they are slightly more expensive then the regular Etude House masks, but it is a step up if you’re looking to get more serious about your skin care.
Yesstyle is a website where you can find the latest fashion, beauty and home products from all over Asia. I discovered this website a few months ago and I am HOOKED. The clothes on there are so so pretty, affordable and original, I also buy all my skin care products from Yesstyle too.
Now on to the actual website. Let me tell you, the amount of things you can buy on this website is HUGE, it literally takes me around a week to search through it because there is just so much choice, plus there are new items being added every week. International free standard delivery takes from 7-14 days with a £20 minimum spend. Express shipping is free over £90 and delivers within 3-5 days.
I’m usually a UK size 3, I bought a 35 which was apparently meant to fit, but they come up a tiny bit small at the back. Doesn’t matter I’ma still rock them. The quality of these shoes aren’t great, the heel is made of a foamy material and the upper material isn’t very sturdy, but it is very comfortable and should survive at least one season.
Overall, I’m so delighted with the service from Yesstyle, I’ve already got a shopping cart full of stuff I want to buy on Payday. Many of the products on the website are already in stock, however some of them have to be ordered by Yesstyle from the different suppliers. This means that it can take around 7-14 days for your items to come into stock and on rare occasions they won’t be able to get your item, in which case you are given a full refund. The customer service is impeccable, I get constant email updates if my item hasn’t been stocked and when my order is going to be shipped. There is also a loyalty rewards system that allows you to get discount on future purchases.
If you are planning to buy from this website, please make sure you read the product description with regards to size. I do find that the clothes are made for more shorter and petite frames. Also make sure you really observe the pictures to see the quality of the item before you buy it, it is easy to get carried away with all the cute clothes, bags and shoes without paying attention to details.
So for those of you who don’t know, Memebox is a South Korean beauty box. It is not a subscription service where you pay a monthly fee and the box is automatically delivered, however you just go onto their website and buy the boxes that you want and it begins delivery on the release date.
Each box contains 4-8 full size products or deluxe samples and costs around $23 (£13.48) each. Some boxes are a little cheaper, some a little more expensive depending on what they have in them. The shipping fees are $6.99 (£4.10) for standard shipping (15-25 business days to deliver). If you order over $75 (£44) worth of boxes you qualify for free express shipping which delivers in 3-7 business days.
Overall the actual value of each box comes in at least around $80 (£47), so it’s a great way of trying out new products which you may never get to try otherwise.

I went to Korea this summer and one thing I noticed about Korean women was that their skin was FLAWLESS. Now I’m not talking about some 20 year old with perfect skin, I’m talking 40 to 50 years old with no wrinkles, no dark spots… nothing. It’s easy to see that Koreans are very into their skincare, there are so many cosmetic shops on every road in the big cities.
So when I came back home I wanted to adopt this skincare routine, in hopes that it will help my skin in the future. I know that different people have different versions of the routine buy here is my version broken down for you:
Step 1: Cleanse
Opt for a cleanser that refreshes the skin in the morning but doesn’t strip your skin of it’s natural oils. Massage cleanser into skin, wash off and pat dry.
Step 2: First Essence (Optional)
This step is used to inject a bit of moisture into the skin after cleansing. First essences have a very watery consistency. Pat a few drops into the skin, let absorb for a few minutes.
Step 3: Toner/ Skin Refiner
Used to bring the pH level of the skin to its natural level which is important in protecting the skin against bacteria and reducing sebum production. Use a cotton pad to wipe across face and let absorb for a minute.
Step 3: Essence
Essence is packed with targeted skin care ingredients for you concerns whether it is anti-ageing, hyper-pigmentation, dryness etc. Pat a few drop into your skin and let absorb for a few minutes.
Step 4: Gel/ Lotion/ Emulsion/ Cream
This step is all about moisturising. Gels and emulsions are much lighter compared to lotions or creams and are ideal for the summer or oily skin. One thing to note is you should always (all year round) use a cream that has a high level of SPF in it that will protect you from UVB and especially harmful UVA rays. Let absorb for 10 minutes.
Step 5: Eye Cream
The under eye area needs extra hydration, it also helps concealer glide on better. Pat into the under eye area with the ring finger.
Step 1: First Cleanse
This step is targeted at getting rid of make-up, especially tough eye make-up. Massage cleanser into skin, wash off and pat dry.
Step 2: Second Cleanse
Just like the morning opt for a cleanser doesn’t strip your skin of it’s natural oils. Massage cleanser into skin, wash off and pat dry.
Step 3: First Essence (Optional)
Same as day time
Step 4: Toner/ Skin Refiner
Same as day time
Step 5: Serum
Serums are like thicker versions of essences but with a higher concentration of skin care ingredients to target your skin care concerns. Again pat a few drops of this into the skin and let absorb for 5 minutes.
Step 6: Ampoule, Booster (Optional)
Ampoule is even more concentrated that serums and are usually quite expensive, the booster is used with the ampoule to help it absorb better and literally boost its benefits. This step is really only necessary for mature skin types.
Step 7: Cream
Night creams usually are a lot thicker than day creams and do not need an SPF. Massage and pat in with your palms.
Step 8: Eye Cream
Again as it is night time, when your skin aims to regenerate, opt for a thicker eye cream. Pat into the under eye area with the ring finger.
Once a week:
Sheet masks are absorbed with essences or serums. Leave it on your skin for 20 minutes then rub in the extra essence. Use before night cream.
Deep cleansing mask
Used to deep cleanse the pores of all the grime, sebum, whiteheads and blackheads. Clay masks are especially good for this.
Twice a week:
A sleeping pack is used after the night cream and it gives a boost of hydration to the skin. Your skin will appear plump and hydrated in the morning.
This step is used to exfoliate all the dead skin cells on the surface of the skin revealing fresher brighter skin.
Once a week I treat myself to a Korean sheet mask. There are so many options to choose from to treat different skin care concerns.
This week my skin was feeling a little dry so I opted for The Face Shops Essential Mask Sheet Hyaluronic Acid. Hyaluronic Acid is used in a number of skin care products because it helps to retain over a 1000 times its weight in water within the cells of skin, making it an excellent moisturiser. It is said to hydrate and plump the skin to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
I use this mask after toning but before moisturising. The sheet mask smells sort of soapy and it doesn’t fit very well on my face as you can see in the picture. However, it has a nice cooling effect. After 20 minutes the essence in the sheet is absorbed and you massage and pat the remaining product into your skin. I noticed that my skin feels very plumped and moisturised after using this mask. This mask has not broken me out, but then again I don’t have sensitive skin.
