Sensitive? Oily? Problematic? Rosacea? Fret not people, if you skin falls within this type, I have found the moisturiser for you. However, before I get onto that, let me tell you about how I fell upon this product.
I’ve been on the search for a night time moisturiser for a while now. Having combination-oily skin means that by morning time my face looks like an oil spill. I knew that I didn’t want to spend too much on a moisturiser and was searching for something without fragrance, alcohol or colourants. Recently, having had no success with Clinique Dramatically Different Gel Moisturiser, I found Toleriane Fluid from La Roche-Posay. A 40ml bottle of this costs £15 from FeelUnique and is sometimes on offer for £10.
As with all La Roche-Posay this product has no parabens, no perfume, no alcohol and no colourants, great! There are very few ingredients in this moisturiser in fact just 8. This is evident when you pump the product out into your palms, you’ll find that the moisturiser is very fluid; water and glycerin makes the bulk of this product.
This moisturiser doesn’t claim to do anything other than just that, moisturise, but what it does, it does very well. I use 3 pumps of this for my face and neck after my serum at night. It absorbs very quickly into the skin and doesn’t leave a greasy residue. Come morning time my skin doesn’t have any rough or dry patches and it isn’t oily in my T-zone.
It’s been 3 weeks since I’ve started using this moisturiser and I can honestly say my skin now feels as soft as a babies butt, my pores don’t appear as clogged, I haven’t experienced any breakouts and my skin appears calmer (no redness).
Toleriane Fluid doesn’t help with wrinkles or hyper-pigmentation but I feel like that is what my serum is for. At this stage in my life I require a simple moisturiser that locks in the ingredients of my serum and gets rid of dry spots. This product does just that and doesn’t causing any irritation. If your skin is like mine then I whole-heartedly recommend it. It’s also a great non-fussy moisturiser for the guys!

I don’t know about you but the idea of moisturising my skin after a shower sounds like the most tedious, time consuming, uncomfortable thing to do. When I step out of the shower the last thing I want to do is stand around butt-nekkid, freezing my nips off in order to lotion myself. Consequently this has left me with really dry, ashy, scaly skin, so attractive, I know…
Being the ultimate lazy girl, when I saw this product that allows you to moisturise while taking a shower I knew I had to have it. I bought a massive 250ml bottle from Boots for £3.75.
So last night I stepped into my shower and after washing my body with my current fave body wash (Dove Cream Oil Nourishing Body Wash) I squeezed some of this product into my palms and rubbed it all over my body and rinsed off, all within 30 seconds. The smell of this product is amazing, it has the classic cocoa butter smell but with a hint of vanilla or is it floral…I don’t know, either way it smells amazing. My shower became a bit slippery so be careful if you’re using this in a bathtub.
When I rinsed this off I noticed my skin was sooo soft and moisturised, just like I had spent 5 minutes massaging product into my skin. Furthermore when I stepped outside the shower I think the product somehow insulated me making it feel warmer! The moisturiser didn’t rub off onto my towel but I made sure to pat my skin dry.
I’m a night showerer so this product kept my skin supple overnight. It’s perfect to use when I’m in a rush and my skin isn’t going to be exposed to the elements. If I’m wearing shorts/short sleeves the day after then I would probably apply a moisturiser again before stepping outside, just because I have an irrational fear of ashy skin haha!
My hands are so ashy and uncomfortable these days and it’s especially true when I’m in the office.
Taken from the Soap & Glory website, Hand Food is:
“Packed with the original, super-smoothing shea butter, macadamia oil and mallow extract formula to soften & rejuvenate hands. Fragranced with Soap & Glory’s signature rose & bergamot scent.”
I bought this bad boy from Boots for just £7.00 and got a massive 250ml of it. I have to say this smells amazing and really does the trick of relieving my dry hands. This pump version is a wonderful product to keep on my desk at work. I hate fussing around with lids and tube caps and find that the tubes of hand cream run out in a few weeks, hopefully this bottle should last me a while.

I went to Superdrug today for one item and well …this happened LOL. I found a couple of cool make-up things that I’m excited to try.
1) MUA Pro Palette Elysium £6.00. This palette has a nice mix of matte and shimmery eyeshadows leaning towards the pinker side. It also comes with a double ended eyeliner/highlighter pencil. I’m really excited to try this palette to create some girly spring looks. If you like Urban Decay Naked Palette 3 then this might be a nice dupe.
2) MUA Eyeshadow Palette Heaven And Earth £4.00. This is also a nice neutral shimmer palette again fantastic for the daytime. There’s lots of pretty golds in here which would look really nice in the sunshine ^_^
3) Maybelline Colorstay Stripped Nude Lipstick 728 Honey Beige £6.99. I got this lipstick as I actually don’t own any nudes in my collection. It’s a nice brown-nude with a satin finish.
4) Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde Waterproof mascara £9.99. I need a new mascara and I got this after a recommendation from a friend who said it was amazing. Will probably do a full review later.
5) Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer Nude £7.99. This concealer gets a lot of love online, I’m interested to see if it performs better than the Maybelline Fit Me concealer, I will probably do a full review on this too.
6) Sleek MakeUp Brow Perfector DARK BROWN £4.99. This is my first eyebrow gel ever! I’m intrigued to see what kind of a difference this makes to my eyebrows.
I didn’t go too wild at the drugstore today thankfully, I’m so broke now it’s unreal (come on payday!!!)

It’s Wednesday today, I last washed my hair on Sunday. This morning my hair was looking a little bit greasy so I tried this dry shampoo from Aussie. I bought a massive 180ml can from Boots for £4.99.
This dry shampoo is different to others I’ve used. When I spray it, it doesn’t coat my hair with the powdery white stuff that dry shampoo normally does. Instead it comes out exactly like a hairspray. In fact it makes my hair a little bit wet. Once brushed through it does a good job of absorbing extra oil and giving a bit of life back to my hair. Also the smell is really nice just like all Aussie products.
On one hand I like this dry shampoo as it smells good and does the job of absorbing oil. On the other hand I’m not a fan of the hairspray feel to this, some may feel it is has too much silicone/ stickiness to it. It’s a decent product for sure but I think I’ll try a different one next time.

I’m a make-up snob…or at least I used to be.
This is the first drugstore base make-up that I have ever purchased. I never used to shop at the drugstore because they simply didn’t cater to darker skin tones, especially with yellow/golden undertones. However in the last few years I have been seeing more and more colour ranges popping up for women of colour.
I was in the market for a new daily concealer. I had been using the Bobbi Brown Tinted Eye Brightener for a few years but always felt it wasn’t pigmented enough on it’s own. I wanted something that felt light on the skin but also covered up my panda eyes. There has been a lot of hype about the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer as it is supposed to be a dupe for the Nars Creamy Concealer so I decided to give it a try.
I opted for the colour Deep, number 35 and bought it from Boots for £5.99. I feel that this colour is a good match for me, it has a pink-beige undertone which counteracts blue under my eyes but I wish it had a little bit more yellow in it, I’m an NC44 in MAC for reference.
The concealer comes with a doe-foot applicator which makes it very convenient to use. The consistency is creamy, highly pigmented and blends easily. This is best blended with a fluffy concealer brush.
L-R: Without concealer, application, after blending.
I actually find that this concealer is way more pigmented than my Bobbi Brown one and it lasts much longer during the day. If I wear just one layer of this there is no creasing but if I wear two layers there is a bit of creasing by the end of the day.
This is a great little concealer and for £5.99 I can’t complain. Yes I am now a drugstore convert. If you could recommend some more concealers for my skintone comment below!
