Hey guys, it’s been a while since I last posted on here. The last two months have been rather hectic, I actually started a new job which is a bit more demanding than the last one so I don’t have as much time or energy to post, but now that I’ve settled in I hope to be writing a lot more.
Being an oily/combination skinned girl I find it very difficult to find sunblocks that don’t leave my skin greasy, uncomfortable and with a white cast. I recently received this sunblock as a sample and after trying it I had to buy the full size. The full size cost £22 from Amazon for a 100ml bottle.
This sunblock contains ingredients that physically block the sun (UVA and UVB), its active ingredients are Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide. I always opt for these ingredients as opposed to chemical sunscreens. The sunblock factor is SPF 50 which means it is intended for use during periods of long exposure to the sun. It is also PA+++ meaning it has the highest protection against harmful UVA rays. The only ingredient which may raise concern is Aluminium Hydroxide, whilst there is no evidence to show it is toxic, some may prefer not to use this on their skin.
The first thing I noticed about this cream upon opening the seal was the smell, it has a fresh aloe fragrance which fades after about 10 minutes on the skin. The cream itself has a thick consistency which spreads easily. Once massaged into the skin the initial white cast disappears completely even on my deep tanned skin. The cream feels moisturising but has a semi-matte finish once it dries, which is perfect for those really hot and sweaty summer days.
Overall I am very impressed with this cream, it has a high SPF and PA rating, ideal for summer use. It doesn’t leave any white cast and it leaves the drier than any other SPF creams I have used before which makes it a perfect make-up base. I would recommend this for anyone with non-sensitive, non-acne prone, oily skin.

Overall I have to say I’m a bit disappointed with the Sleeping Beauty box. The products don’t feel as luxurious as normal Memeboxes and the values don’t seem realistic. I am however really excited to use the products in the Rapunzel box as the packaging looks great!
I’ve been meaning to try this eyeliner for years and I finally got my hands on it! I bought it from YesStylefor £11.90.
Dolly Wink from KOJI is a deep, dazzling black eyeliner with an ultra fine, yet flexible tip for ease and precise application. Waterproof and sweat proof, the liquid eyeliner comes with a quick dry formula to prevent smudges and smears. Long wearing and with an intense shade, eyes are enhanced and defined for hours on end, without need of touch-ups.
The packaging is cute and pink. The pen itself is pink with a black top. I think it has a small ball inside the pen to aid in distribution of the product.
The tip of the eyeliner is made of many tiny fibres which have been tapered to a very fine tip. This allows the pen to be very flexible and get close to the lashes, whilst maintaining the shape of the tip.
The eyeliner applies extremely smoothly but the colour isn’t as black or dark as I would have liked it to be. You need to apply quite a few layers to achieve an opaque black line which can be time consuming. The formula is very light weight and comfortable and it isn’t drying so it doesn’t clump at all. The finish is semi matte.
I’ve got very oily lids, so after 4 hours I saw a tiny bit of smudging under my eyes which wiped away very easily. There was a tiny bit of fading over the 12 hours but overall the line stayed pretty solid and performs better than any other liquid eyeliner I’ve used before. Removal of this eyeliner was the best part for me. I’m not a fan of tugging at my eyelids to remove long-wear make-up, but this literally comes off with a wipe of hot water!
I really like this eyeliner as an everyday day product and I will probably buy it again. It is long wearing, light-weight, gives a polished look and removes very easily. The only down side was the lack of intensity of the colour but I think I’ll use this more for when I just want to line my lashes with a thin line instead of when I want to do a full cat-eye liner.
Edit 1. I tried the eyeliner again with Elf’s Eyelid Primer and the colour pay-off was awesome and there was no smudging. So if you’re going to buy this use a primer first 🙂
Yesstyle is a website where you can find the latest fashion, beauty and home products from all over Asia. I discovered this website a few months ago and I am HOOKED. The clothes on there are so so pretty, affordable and original, I also buy all my skin care products from Yesstyle too.
Now on to the actual website. Let me tell you, the amount of things you can buy on this website is HUGE, it literally takes me around a week to search through it because there is just so much choice, plus there are new items being added every week. International free standard delivery takes from 7-14 days with a £20 minimum spend. Express shipping is free over £90 and delivers within 3-5 days.
I’m usually a UK size 3, I bought a 35 which was apparently meant to fit, but they come up a tiny bit small at the back. Doesn’t matter I’ma still rock them. The quality of these shoes aren’t great, the heel is made of a foamy material and the upper material isn’t very sturdy, but it is very comfortable and should survive at least one season.
Overall, I’m so delighted with the service from Yesstyle, I’ve already got a shopping cart full of stuff I want to buy on Payday. Many of the products on the website are already in stock, however some of them have to be ordered by Yesstyle from the different suppliers. This means that it can take around 7-14 days for your items to come into stock and on rare occasions they won’t be able to get your item, in which case you are given a full refund. The customer service is impeccable, I get constant email updates if my item hasn’t been stocked and when my order is going to be shipped. There is also a loyalty rewards system that allows you to get discount on future purchases.
If you are planning to buy from this website, please make sure you read the product description with regards to size. I do find that the clothes are made for more shorter and petite frames. Also make sure you really observe the pictures to see the quality of the item before you buy it, it is easy to get carried away with all the cute clothes, bags and shoes without paying attention to details.
So for those of you who don’t know, Memebox is a South Korean beauty box. It is not a subscription service where you pay a monthly fee and the box is automatically delivered, however you just go onto their website and buy the boxes that you want and it begins delivery on the release date.
Each box contains 4-8 full size products or deluxe samples and costs around $23 (£13.48) each. Some boxes are a little cheaper, some a little more expensive depending on what they have in them. The shipping fees are $6.99 (£4.10) for standard shipping (15-25 business days to deliver). If you order over $75 (£44) worth of boxes you qualify for free express shipping which delivers in 3-7 business days.
Overall the actual value of each box comes in at least around $80 (£47), so it’s a great way of trying out new products which you may never get to try otherwise.

I went to Korea this summer and one thing I noticed about Korean women was that their skin was FLAWLESS. Now I’m not talking about some 20 year old with perfect skin, I’m talking 40 to 50 years old with no wrinkles, no dark spots… nothing. It’s easy to see that Koreans are very into their skincare, there are so many cosmetic shops on every road in the big cities.
So when I came back home I wanted to adopt this skincare routine, in hopes that it will help my skin in the future. I know that different people have different versions of the routine buy here is my version broken down for you:
Step 1: Cleanse
Opt for a cleanser that refreshes the skin in the morning but doesn’t strip your skin of it’s natural oils. Massage cleanser into skin, wash off and pat dry.
Step 2: First Essence (Optional)
This step is used to inject a bit of moisture into the skin after cleansing. First essences have a very watery consistency. Pat a few drops into the skin, let absorb for a few minutes.
Step 3: Toner/ Skin Refiner
Used to bring the pH level of the skin to its natural level which is important in protecting the skin against bacteria and reducing sebum production. Use a cotton pad to wipe across face and let absorb for a minute.
Step 3: Essence
Essence is packed with targeted skin care ingredients for you concerns whether it is anti-ageing, hyper-pigmentation, dryness etc. Pat a few drop into your skin and let absorb for a few minutes.
Step 4: Gel/ Lotion/ Emulsion/ Cream
This step is all about moisturising. Gels and emulsions are much lighter compared to lotions or creams and are ideal for the summer or oily skin. One thing to note is you should always (all year round) use a cream that has a high level of SPF in it that will protect you from UVB and especially harmful UVA rays. Let absorb for 10 minutes.
Step 5: Eye Cream
The under eye area needs extra hydration, it also helps concealer glide on better. Pat into the under eye area with the ring finger.
Step 1: First Cleanse
This step is targeted at getting rid of make-up, especially tough eye make-up. Massage cleanser into skin, wash off and pat dry.
Step 2: Second Cleanse
Just like the morning opt for a cleanser doesn’t strip your skin of it’s natural oils. Massage cleanser into skin, wash off and pat dry.
Step 3: First Essence (Optional)
Same as day time
Step 4: Toner/ Skin Refiner
Same as day time
Step 5: Serum
Serums are like thicker versions of essences but with a higher concentration of skin care ingredients to target your skin care concerns. Again pat a few drops of this into the skin and let absorb for 5 minutes.
Step 6: Ampoule, Booster (Optional)
Ampoule is even more concentrated that serums and are usually quite expensive, the booster is used with the ampoule to help it absorb better and literally boost its benefits. This step is really only necessary for mature skin types.
Step 7: Cream
Night creams usually are a lot thicker than day creams and do not need an SPF. Massage and pat in with your palms.
Step 8: Eye Cream
Again as it is night time, when your skin aims to regenerate, opt for a thicker eye cream. Pat into the under eye area with the ring finger.
Once a week:
Sheet masks are absorbed with essences or serums. Leave it on your skin for 20 minutes then rub in the extra essence. Use before night cream.
Deep cleansing mask
Used to deep cleanse the pores of all the grime, sebum, whiteheads and blackheads. Clay masks are especially good for this.
Twice a week:
A sleeping pack is used after the night cream and it gives a boost of hydration to the skin. Your skin will appear plump and hydrated in the morning.
This step is used to exfoliate all the dead skin cells on the surface of the skin revealing fresher brighter skin.
