Hello, hello… So I’m really sorry for this months late post, it has been a busy couple of weeks with a lot of social events happening but I finally got round to writing up this post! Below are my top beauty picks for the month of July with some added extras. Enjoy!

MAC Twig

I recently rediscovered this lipstick after it was hidden in my lipstick drawer for months. Nude pink lipsticks traditionally do not look great on my skin tone, however this is the absolute best colour I have tried that is light enough to be a nude and dark enough not to wash me out. For more swatches see here.

MAC Studio Sculpt foundation

In the summer months I don’t like to wear much foundation but when I go out for special occasions I apply Studio Sculpt from MAC. Not only because it’s the only foundation that matches my summer tan but also because it leaves the skin with a dewy glow whilst also giving really great coverage. For a full review see here.

Bioderma Photoderm Mineral Spray SPF 50+

First let me put it out there, this sunscreen isn’t for everyone. It is thick and leaves a white cast on the skin. However, being the skincare addict that I am, when I want a lot of sun protection and I know I won’t be able or will probably forget to to re-apply, I actually like being able to see the product on my skin as it lets me know I am being protected. Does that make sense? I don’t burn in the sun but this product protects me from uneven tanning and I suspect will be really good for very pale skin.

Palmer’s Ultra Moisturizing Lip Balm SPF 15

I have the driest lips known to mankind and this lip balm has been absolute godsend since I discovered it. It is very hydrating, smells great and has SPF in it too. I think I’ve found my holy grail lip balm!

Philip Kingsley Daily Damage Defence

I mentioned this product in my previous post and I must say I am loving it. Once I’m done with this travel size spray I am buying the larger size ASAP. It is the best heat protection spray I’ve used to date. It protects my hair, reduces frizz and fly-aways and smells great.

Clarks Tri Nova Sandals

Image taken from the Clarks website

When I think of Clarks I get nostalgic memories of being dragged to the shops at the end of the summer holidays for a pair of sensible school shoes. Nonetheless, before I went on holiday I knew I had to invest in a pair of sandals which I could actually walk in for hours and hours. I tried this pair on in Clarks and fell in love with how comfortable they are. The leather soles are super soft and cushioned and the straps do not chafe on your feet. I wore these for four days walking around in Barcelona for hours on different terrains and they are by far the comfiest sandals I’ve ever owned. Plus they actually look really nice!

Furuta Matcha Green Tea Sandwich Cookies

Anyone who knows me knows that I am matcha obsessed. These biscuits are my absolute fave. I pick them up at my local Korean supermarket but they can be found at various Asian supermarkets around London. These biscuits remind me of a custard cream but with a delicious matcha twist! So delicious I struggle not to devour a whole box at once!

That’s all for this month, please comment below with your July favourites and until next time…

New In: Hair (Kérastase, Moronccanoil, Philip Kingsley)

For those who follow me on social media, you may be aware that I recently got my hair re-highlighted. The process of bleaching ones hair can really strip it of life and hydration so I immediately needed to invest in some new hair care products. I bought all of these products from Feel Unique but they can also be found in many high street salons. My hair is medium thick, wavy, frizzy, unruly and the ends are very dry and damaged.

Kérastase always deliver on their claims and so I chose the Kérastase Resistance Sérum Thérapiste. This is a hair serum to be applied to wet or dry hair which claims to protect against heat damage and seal split ends to improve smoothness of the hair shaft. The product dispenses from a dual pump, one with a cream and the other is an oil which you mix in your palms and apply through the mid-lengths and ends of the hair. I use around 3 pumps for the whole of my hair before blow drying and straightening it. I’ve found that this product improves the appearance of my split ends and gives my hair a lot of shine without weighing it down. It is a great product to use when I’m straightening my hair as it works with the heat to smooth the hair shaft giving very professional results, however because of the price I’m less inclined to use it day-t0-day. Also, like all Kérastase products, it leaves my hair smelling like I just like the hair salon.

A day-to-day option for me is the Philip Kingsley Daily Damage Defence. I use the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer regularly so I really trust this brand. The Daily Damage Defence spray is your classic leave in conditioner spray that adds elasticity and provides defence from daily heat styling, breakage and environmental effects. It is designed for all hair types for use on wet hair after washing or into dry hair to remove frizz and static. This is probably one of the best heat defense sprays I’ve used to date. I spray a few pumps of this through wet hair before blow drying and it reduces frizz, adds shine whilst adding bounce and bounce. It makes my hair really manageable for day-to-day styling.

For when I’m wearing my hair in a curlier style or when the weather is particularly humid I always need a bit more frizz control. I’ve had my eye on this brand for a long time so I thought to pick up two of their products. Firstly the Moroccanoil Frizz Control Spray is a fantastic product for doing exactly what it says on the packaging. When I spray my hair with this product it immediately removes all frizz and it prevents it from forming again in adverse weather conditions. It doesn’t provide any heat protection so I use it in conjunction with a heat-spray. The formula also contains argan oil and vitamin E to deeply condition the hair.

The product I want to rave about however is the Moroccanoil treatment.  This is a hair treatment oil containing argan oil and vitamins which can be used in wet hair for conditioning and for styling after it has been dried. This hair oil is INCREDIBLE for giving me smooth, luscious locks. I will say that if you have thin hair you should probably avoid this because it’s quite a heavy, thick oil. I’m aware that a light version is available too but I can’t attest to whether it works as well. Nonetheless, due to this product alone I have been able to wear my hair completely naturally which is something I haven’t done in years. It helps define curls and waves, removes all fly-away and frizz and gives you that hair you just want to run your fingers through!

Have you tried any of these products before? What new hair care or styling products have you tried recently? Comment below and let me know 🙂

Well hello there. I know I say this every month but I can’t believe June has already come and gone! To be honest with you guys, recently I was feeling like my passion for all things beauty was dwindling but something clicked with me in the past few weeks and I’ve been getting back into beauty, so please expect more frequent posts from me. I haven’t got that many favourites this month but I did purchase a couple of new things which I’ve really been enjoying and wanted to share with you…

NYX Lip Lingerie “Exotic”

I spoke about this product in my previous blog post and honestly this has shot to the top of my holy grail lip products. This liquid lipstick is the prettiest warm pink and will suit just about everyone plus it’s really comfortable to wear. Also did I mention it costs just £6.50! To see a full review click here.

Sleek Blush “Flushed”

This blush is something I haven’t blogged about thus far. I bought this Sleek blush along with “Sahara”, an orange tone similar to MAC Peaches. However, Flushed has really surprised me, it’s a super pigmented coral which looks amazing on my skin tone, blends really well and lasts a long time. Well done Sleek!

Lush Mask “Cup O’ Coffee”

I haven’t been to Lush in a hot minute so decided to treat myself to a face mask. Although I love the fresh face masks I never get to finish them so I went for one of the longer shelf life products. Cup O’ Coffee is an exfoliating face mask which firstly, smells sooo sexy and secondly makes my skin clear and smooth as a baby’s butt without drying it out. My make-up also goes on better after using this mask.

Varley Marble Mesh Insert Leggings

Image taken from Asos.com

Us bloggers are known for loving marble everything and when I saw these leggings from Varley I knew I had to have them. They give an effortless, clean and undeniably cool look to any outfit. I’ve received a number of compliments for these leggings and will be wearing them all Summer long.

That’s all for this month my loves, please let me know what you’ve been liking this month!

Hello beautiful people. Where on earth did the Month of May go?! Here in London Summertime is in full swing (periods of sunshine with lots of showers LOL) so I’ve finally had a chance to try some of my Summer favourites. I’ve been really liking a few things this month so without further ado, here they are…

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair

This serum is a cult favourite in the beauty industry. The moment I used it I thought to myself “Why did I ever stop using this?”. Advanced Night Repair is one of the only two serums that I have repurchased (the other being Paula’s Choice Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum). Every night I pat a few drops of this serum into my skin, it absorbs quickly and in the morning I consistently wake up with with clearer and plumper skin. If you haven’t ever tried this serum I would thoroughly recommend it for healthier, supple skin! Read my in-depth review here.

Urban Decay De-Slick Spray

As it’s been a little warmer I’ve been loving using this setting spray to prolong the wear of my make-up. After I put on my make-up in the morning I spray this into my face and it sets my face to a matte finish. I definitely see a reduction in oil production and an elongation in the wear of my make-up. If I’m going out after work I like to spray this on my face again after blotting and it’ll set me for the rest of the evening. This product is a must for anyone with oily skin.

Delilah Sunset Matte Bronzer (Medium Dark)

To anyone with my skin tone (NC42-44) you NEED to have this bronzer in your kit. This is the best matte bronzer I have ever used. It is the perfect blend of warm and cool tones, finely milled, long lasting for the dreamiest bronzed skin. There is a lighter version available too for fairer skin tones. For a full review see here.

Kiehls Avocado Eye Cream

This month I had some dehydration around the eyes so I’ve been applying an extra thick layer of this eye cream at night and it’s really done a great job at getting rid of dry lines and plumping up the skin around my eyes. It’s a simple formula but extremely efficient at what it does. For a full review, click here.

Bershka Bomber

Bomber jackets are everywhere this season, I find myself wanting all of them! I picked this jacket up a few months ago from Bershka, one of my favourite high street shops, and I’m really enjoying wearing it dressed down with jeans and trainers. It instantly makes you look effortlessly cool. The print and colour are really complementary on my skin tone too.

Pieces Backpack

I’ve been searching for a black backpack for ages but always found that they were either too small to be practical, or too large, making me look like a school child! I found this backpack from Pieces and it’s the perfect size, the faux leather is really soft like real leather and the shape is really different to anything I’ve seen before. I will be taking this on holiday in a few weeks as the zip and clasp makes it pretty much impossible to steal from.

Rebel London Sandals

This pair of monochrome sandals from Rebel London are so pretty, smart and comfortable. They match just about any outfit so I will be wearing these a lot this Summer.

Food For Life, Ezekiel 4:9, Sprouted Whole Grain Cereal

Cereals are one of my favourite foods so I’m always looking for new ones to try. I came across this cereal and the ingredients looked amazing- freshly sprouted certified organically grown whole live grains, legumes, and seeds, no added sugar, no added oil, no artificial flavouring, 100% whole food full of vitamins and minerals. This cereal tastes absolutely amazing, crunchy and wholesome, I can’t wait to try all of the flavours. It’s high in carbohydrates and protein so I love having it with Greek yoghurt and fresh fruit before a weights session at the gym. It’s quite expensive (£5.50/box) but totally worth it, I bought mine online from here.

That’s all for this month my dears, please tell me what you’ve been loving this month in the comments section below!

March Favourites

Hello lovely people!

March has been the month of rediscoveries for me, I’ve been digging through my drawers and falling back in love with some golden oldies, so without further ado, here are my March favourites:

Paula’s Choice Resist Anti-Aging Ultra-Light Antioxidant Serum

Having recently run out of the nighttime serum I was using I decided to start using this product instead (I usually use it in the daytime). I have woken up with such awesome glowy, soft skin since using this serum at night and it’s a great formulation for oilier skin. I don’t think I’m going to be purchasing another serum for a while now as this has given me really great results, I’m actually sort of annoyed that I didn’t try it earlier. For a full review see here.

Chanel Coco Madamoiselle Body Wash & Lotion

This body wash and lotion combo has been sitting around in my room for a while now so I decided it was finally time to use it. I used to have the Coco Madamoiselle EDP which I loved but as it is such a common fragrance I decided I wouldn’t repurchase it. The body wash and lotion carry the same beautiful fragrance and give me a sense of luxury when I take my evening shower. Also the fragrance lasts all the way through till morning!

WonderRuci Cacao Brightening Mask

Asides from smelling like chocolate and being extremely fun to use, this face mask has really been helping clear up some blemishes I’ve recently got on my skin. I smooth a layer of this on my face, consider licking it off for 20 minutes, and when I wash it off I’m left with brighter, fresher looking skin.

ELF Baked Bronzer – Los Cabos

Every time I use this bronzer I literally can’t stop looking at my face. The ELF baked products have a great satin finish on the skin. It gives a glow to the cheeks and the colour is beautiful on my skin tone. It adds the right amount of warmth and depth without looking muddy. This is definitely one of my top 3 bronzers of all time.

Barry M Gel Nail Varnish (Acai Berry)

I reckon this is going to be a go-to Spring nail varnish shade for me. It is the perfect on trend shade of pink and looks really good on all skin tones. With this being a gel nail varnish it has an amazing shine and longevity to it too.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush (Luminous Flush)

Now that the days are becoming longer I’ve been opting for more pink shades of lipsticks and blush. This blush from Hourglass has a soft focus finish on the skin and does not fade throughout the day. It can be blended into a very sheer finish for a no-makeup look or heavily for a full face. For a full review click here.

Grenade Carb Killa – Cookies & Cream

For those of you that haven’t tried these bars yet I urge you to give them a taste. They are the most “chocolate bar” tasting protein bar, with a layer of cookies and cream covered in caramel with crunchy pieces and then a layer of milk chocolate. No gritty texture and with great macros. Also they are much more available in the UK (try Tesco, Holland & Barret, Argos).

That’s all for this month! What have you guys been loving this month, anything in particular I should try?

February Favourites

Hey guys! February is one of my favourite months with it being my birthday month so I’ve been rather busy recently, hence this super late post (sorry! better late than never right!)

So without further ado here are my monthly favourites.

MAC Verve

Verve is one of my everyday go-to’s for when I’m in a rush or feeling lazy. It gives my lips a “my lips but better” shade whilst making them look really plump, also the formula is just so creamy and hydrating on my lips. I think this may be one of the first lipsticks that I actually finish.

ELF Baked Blush Peachy Cheeky

I rediscovered this blush this month. On my skin tone this product is definitely not a blush but the most beautiful highlight, it kind of reminds me of Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Powder in Candlelight in the sense that it has a really subtle, non-shimmery finish. If you are around my skin tone or darker I would really recommend picking this up for an everyday highlight or on a fairer skintone this would look great as a peach blush.

Barry M Nail Polish in Dark Side of Shroom

*Sigh* this colour of nail varnish is just amazing. It’s a purple with a grey undertone making it very different to anything I’ve seen before. It’ll suit all skin tones and immediately makes you look fashion forward. Also with the daylight curing topcoat you can get a great manicure that lasts a good week.

Skagen Rose Gold Bracelet Watch

My lovely boyfriend bought this BEAUTIFUL watch for me and I am absolutely in love with it, it’s so pretty and looks great on smaller wrists. It immediately makes me look more put together when paired with a crisp shirt/ knit.

Dune Trish Boots (black leather)

I raved about the grey suede version of these boots a few months ago and I managed to get the black leather version before it went out of stock. These boots have a classic over the knee cut, fit really well around my slim calves and are very comfortable for everyday use.

American Apparel Dylan Trench (Cocoa Bean)

I love wearing trench coats in the Spring/ Summer and I have been loving this blush tone that I’ve been seeing everywhere. Having searched high and low for a blush trench I’d almost given up hope but when I  spotted this coat on one of my favourite style Vloggers Jenn Im from Clothesencouters I knew I had to buy it no matter what. The colour is absolutely stunning, sort of a dusty pink (it looks darker in real life than in the image on the website) and I cannot wait for it to warm up in London so I can wear it!

Mr Kipling Orange & Cranberry Oat Slice

I’m forever snacking and this month they were giving free samples of these oat slices at work. Being the greedy pig that I am I grabbed about four boxes. These are the perfect snack to have with a cuppa when the 4pm hunger pangs/ sweet tooth strikes. YUM

Soreen Chocolate Squidgy Cake Minis

Something else I’ve been loving are these new cake minis from Soreen. These mini cakes have the classic squidgy Soreen texture with a hint of chocolate. It’s not too sweet and a relatively healthy snack!

Life and Blog Updates

Hey peeps, how have you all been? As you can tell this post isn’t going to be like my normal beauty posts but rather an update post.

As of last week I’ve decided to go back into education to study for a Diploma in Cosmetic Science. Some of you might know that I have been working as a Technologist dealing with cosmetics for a few months now. Whilst I’ve learnt a lot throughout this experience and I’ve discovered what I want to do in life, I feel like there are a lot of gaps in my knowledge that is preventing me from moving up in my career.

When I graduated university four Summers ago (oh how time flies!) I went through a phase of wanting to do a Masters in one of the academic fields that everyone else on my course was doing. When I was honest with myself I realised that it wasn’t for me. Then, when I started working, I told myself stubbornly “I’m never going back into education” because I remember leaving university feeling distinctly stressed, confused and burnt out. Looking back at it now I don’t think I was mature enough at 18 to know what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. Nonetheless, I’m glad I did it as I’ve now got a great degree in Biomedical Sciences which has given me a good foundation for my career plans.

Now that I’ve worked for a few years and taken that break from learning I’ve come to understand that as human beings we have to constantly evolve, refresh and update our skills to remain competitive, especially with the current job market.

Currently I work full time, that’s Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm and whilst it isn’t too stressful at work, the hours are demanding, as is the three hour (total) commute. In between this I try to fit in a social life, fitness and blogging, but now I’m going to have to spend a lot of time studying as well.

So does this mean I’m going to stop blogging? No, never! I love blogging and I will continue to do it as long as I can. Blogging for me is a chance to unwind and share with you, my amazing subscribers, the awesome, or not so awesome things I’m currently wasting my money on 🙂 It’s just that I won’t be able to dedicate as much time to post that frequently.

My plan is to post once a week as it shouldn’t be too much on my workload. I hope to stick to this plan but there is a good chance it could be even less frequent around assignment time.

I hope you guys understand why I won’t be as active on here and still continue to keep up with my blog. So until my next post, wish me good luck!

OPI Barefoot in Barcelona

Hey girls this is going to be a really quick mid-week post. Last night I did my nails and I really didn’t intend to post anything about it but I positively felt like I was being selfish if I didn’t share this nail varnish with you.

Since buying “Barefoot in Barcelona” from OPI last week it has become one of my all time favourite nail varnish colours to wear. I’ve really been into neutral brown-pinks for a few months now whether in the form of a lipstick, eyeshadow or a piece of clothing and I was on the hunt for a perfect pink with a brown undertone to wear on my nails.

This is it. I love, love, love this colour so, so much. I find that OPI formulas are really smooth and shiny but don’t last any longer than a drug store varnishes. Nonetheless, this colour looks absolutely fabulous on all skin tones and all nail shapes. I really recommend!
