When I first saw a review for this bronzer on Mouldy Fruit I knew I had to try it out for myself. Finding a bronzer for someone who has a warm, darker complexion is especially difficult. I find a lot of bronzers look “muddy” on me and don’t suit the yellow undertones in my skin.
Delilah Sunset Matte Bronzer is available online through the Space NK website for £34. Delilah Cosmetics are a relatively new British cosmetics brand which focuses on good quality, premium products. There are two colours to choose from, Medium Light and Medium Dark and they both have a 100% matte finish. I chose Medium Dark and I’d say this colour would suit anyone between an NC35-NC44.
Initially upon opening the package you can tell this product is expensive. It comes in a pretty pink presentation box and has a grey velvet pouch to hold it in. The gun metal and rose gold casing is very weighty and has a nice mirror and magnetic clasp.
When I first saw the colour of this bronzer in the pan I was skeptical because I thought it looked a bit too light. However, when I actually tried this on my face, oh my goodness, I fell in love! This bronzer adds life and warmth back into my skin in a very subtle way, but it can be built up to give a dramatic bronzed look too. The powder is extremely finely milled and the texture is very soft making it look airbrushed when buffed into the skin. it also blends beautifully over foundation. I like using it on my cheeks, under my chin, on my temples and dusting a bit on the top of my nose for a chiseled sunkissed look.
I’m really happy with my first experience with Delilah Cosmetics as I love to support homegrown brands. This bronzer is that touch of luxury in my otherwise unglamorous day and it has become a staple in my Spring/ Summer make-up arsenal.
